Squeezing my thighs together, I shook my head. “I’m not doing you. I told you, no more sex.”

“Oh, I’m sorry.” The glass clunked down with succinct disapproval. “Since you’re getting a little cocky for my tastes, I’m going to break it down in very little words. Your soul and pussy are mine. Non-negotiable.”

He rose and straightened his shirt as if he were merely heading back inside to dine with our parents. “I think a screaming orgasm in a coatroom outside a very busy dining hall is the perfect touch of sin to celebrate our new relationship.”

Every inch of me wanted to hike up my skirt and sprint to that coatroom despite hating him so much. I fought desire tooth and nail. “Not no. Hell no.”

Striding away, he laughed. “‘Hell’ and ‘no’ just don’t match up. Hell will always say yes to the fun things, the more sinful, the better.”

I trembled as I gripped the arms of my chair to keep from following him.

He glanced over his broad shoulder. “You coming?”

  Yes. “No.”

He shot me an indulgent smile. “Don’t keep me waiting too long, Olivia.”

  And then…poof…he was gone.

  ****

They say the road to Heaven is paved with good intentions. As I stood outside the coatroom, nervously smoothing my dress, I was sure my road to hell was paved with the blood written on my contract.

I had lasted a total of five minutes on the patio all alone, sipping my fruity drink, making a sculpture out of the straw, wondering if I could kill him with the butter knife on my table. Then I remembered he’d take me on a one-way trip to the underworld and scratched that.

As badly as I had fought it, his silent call had become too much. I couldn’t resist him. Chocolate chip cookies covered in fudge had never beckoned this hard. Every nerve throbbed, every muscle contracted, every pore oozed with need. My body wouldn’t entertain the thought of masturbating somewhere private. It wanted Leo. Now.

With dragging steps, I’d made the walk of shame across the patio and down the hallway to the coatroom.

“Damn it.” I shook as I lingered in the hallway just outside the door.

My core pulsed in time with my heart, and every inch of skin he’d kissed and laved during our first night burned with the sweetest fire. Anger no longer surged within me. Sinful, dirty need whispered to open the door and go get my orgasm.

Which I did, with a mix of great reluctance and joy.

“You held out longer than I thought.” Leo waited in the back of the little closet laden with wraps and jackets. His hands sank into his pockets. His legs spread shoulder-wide with confidence and superiority. “You never cease to amaze me.”

I ground my teeth. “Shut up and get it done.”

“This is a lesson in power, Olivia. Who has the control and holds the reins, so to speak. Since I have the cock, I get to be cocky.” He laughed, the change jingling in his pocket. “I like that.”

I hated the way my sex dampened at his dirty talk. “You’re not funny.”

“No, but your pussy finds me incredibly attractive. Doesn’t it, Liv? It throbbed when I said cock.”

It had, too. It did it again. I ground my teeth. “I don’t like dirty talk.”

“Sure you do.” His laugh sent shivers down my spine, straight to my core. “What did you just learn?”

I sighed and fought rolling my eyes. “You’re a pervert, and you’re stronger than I am.” For now.

“Lesson learned. Next time, don’t make me wait so long.” He stepped out from his haven of coats, brushing past me toward the door.

“What?” Confusion reigned, swirling with the anger and lust. “We’re not going to…”

“There’s no joy in fucking an unwilling woman, Liv. Give me some credit. Shall we go?”

“You just admitted you’re a demon. You don’t get credit.” I wasn’t going to get sex. The lust had built to the point that I needed release. I’d never understood that before, but I got it now.

I breathed deep to center myself, and his cologne wound around me, ensnaring me deeper in his lustful trap of deceit.

As he tried to take my hand to escort me back to the dining area, I narrowed my eyes. “I’m not ready to go anywhere. You made me horny.”

His dark brows flew up as he stared at me with a look of surprise that softened his jaw and made his lips that much more kissable. “You want me to fuck you anyway?”

I lifted my chin, not willing to admit it. Yes, I did want him. My overwhelmed mind weakly battled the truth. “I’d rather you disappear into the great beyond and take your father with you.”

“We both know that’s not going to happen.” His hand slid along my arm, leaving a trail of goosebumps. Those fingers paused a breath from the underside of my breast. “But I bet we could make things a lot more bearable.”

His index finger ghosted over the peak of my nipple. I didn’t realize I was holding my breath until it whooshed out on a moan I barely stifled. I trembled for this man—no, demon—wanting this orgasm more than I wanted my next breath.

A dirty smile grew, and he dipped his head so his breath warmed the skin of my ear. “You’ll come like you never have before.”

My sex throbbed with desperate need, wanting to turn that promise into reality. Demon be damned. I didn’t recall half the orgasms he’d given me. I wanted to remember, just this once.

I licked my dry lips. “What if someone comes in?”

“I’m magical.” His lips dropped hot kisses my ear, my neck, leaving a path of shivers over the goosebumps on my skin. “No one comes in unless I will it.”

In for a penny, in for a pound. Only I bet he was closer to one hundred eighty pounds of lean muscle. I clenched my fist on the urge to run my hand over his strong chest, down his abs to grip the bulge in his slacks. I wanted to forget this nightmare and just…enjoy. For once.

I was already damned, right? I’d already done the deed with him. Once more wouldn’t tarnish my soul. “Then yes. I want this.”

His head jerked back. Intense, dark eyes studied mine as if searching my soul. I don’t know what he found there, but his dirty smile quirked into something wistful. “You sure?”

I couldn’t have power over him…could I? “Don’t make me change my mind.”

He dipped his head in an elegant nod and stepped away. “Come.”

He took my hand and guided me against the back wall. One of his elbows thumped next to my head, and his head dipped, his lips a breath from mine. I tried not to gulp air as my heart pounded.

His finger traced the neckline of my dress, dipping between my breasts, caressing my cleavage. “You have gorgeous breasts.”

The lack of dirty in those words, teamed with the way he watched his fingers creep under the lace of my bra like I was worth more than a coatroom fuck…unnerving.

I licked my lips again and croaked out, “Shut it. Just do me.”

“Gladly.” His hand skimmed down the front of my dress to the hem and lifted.

I closed my eyes as cool air caressed my thighs just a millimeter ahead of his fingers. He brushed over my mound, caressing the damp fabric.

  “All mine,” he whispered.

He reached down, grabbed the elastic straps of my thong and ripped, shredding the gauzy fabric. I’d always thought that would hurt like hell when I’d seen it done in the movies, but instead, adrenaline surged along my veins as another rush of moisture pooled in my core.

His fingers sank between the folds of my flesh. Relief mixed with need, and I couldn’t stop from spreading my legs. My head thunked back on the wooden wall, and I simply…let him. His fingers worked their black magic, and within seconds, I was panting at the edge of need that burned what was left of my soul.

“I want to fuck you, Olivia. I want your cum on my cock and your scream of pleasure on my ears. What say you?”

“Condom,” I reminded through my pants of excitement, not caring that he sounded way older than he was supposed to be. “And
don’t mess up my hair.”

“Never.” He hoisted me by my hips and slammed me against the wall, his lips claiming mine in a heated kiss I matched stroke for stroke with my tongue. The head of his condom-covered cock rubbed along my slit, down my entrance, gathering moisture.

He braced himself against me and poised himself at the point of no return. “You ready?”

  “Yes.”

I expected him to just ram home and claim what was his. Instead, his length slid in inch by sweet, torturous inch. I closed my eyes and savored the pleasure, like that first bite of chocolate or that first sip of really good coffee. But then the need swirled and consumed me again. I wrapped my legs around his lean hips.

“Fuck me,” I whispered in his ear. Then I bit it, reveling in the sizzle of extreme delight and pleasure at his yelp.

He turned his head and kissed me hard, his lips a firm reprimand for my disobedience. Down below, his cock surged inside me, in and out in a furious pace that had my back slamming against the wall with each pound. My fingers bit into his shoulders, my heels dug into his firm ass, and I just hung on and let him teach me, so to speak.

All I learned was…God damn, that demon can make my blood sing and my toes curl.

His thrusting increased with the pulsing of my core, and his fingers stabbed between our bodies to pinch my clit. I bit back the scream he so desperately wanted and allowed myself to dive into the waves of bliss. Over and over I came, writhing against the wall, glad he was strong enough to hold me up.

“Next time, you’ll scream,” he whispered as he stilled his thrusts.

  “Can I help— Oh.”

My head jerked to the door.

A short brunette girl in her mid-twenties dressed in black restaurant attire stared at us, her eyes glazed with fascination. Her pink tongue darted out to lick her lips.

My heart skipped a beat in terror. “Make her leave.”

“This is part of the lesson to be learned,” Leo chided as he pulled out.

I rammed down my dress while he calmly disposed of the condom. “She’ll do whatever I ask, be it toss this out or join us for a second round.”

“No!” I yanked my dress down harder, pulling it tight around my thighs.

“Do you believe I have the power? That’s the lesson, Olivia. I need to know you respect that power. If you don’t…” He snapped his fingers.

The brunette took a step closer. “It would be a pleasure to join you, sir.”

I held a hand out to keep her at bay. “No, I’m good. I get it.” I didn’t want another innocent involved in this. “Make her stop.”

Leo took a moment to admire the shreds of my thong in his fingers. He gave it a long sniff and tucked it into his pocket with a dirty wink. “We’re good, Vanessa.”

The brunette pouted in disappointment and angled behind her little stand as Leo and I brushed past. He turned us both around to face her and snapped his fingers.

“May I help you?” Vanessa asked with a chipper voice and a polite smile. Her brown eyes held no recognition as she waited to hear our request.

“My girlfriend is missing her wrap, and we thought we’d take a peek, but I’m not seeing it here. Are you, darling?” He glanced down at me with serene indulgence.

“No,” I choked out between parched lips. “I think I’ll check the ladies’ room.”

“You do that, darling. I’m so sorry to bother you, Vanessa.” Leo cast her a devastating smile, the same one that had damned me straight to Hell the night before.

The glance she shot him was laced with appreciation. “Any time, sir.”

He took my elbow and steered my trembling body out into the hallway.

“Tell me she won’t remember that,” I hissed.

“She won’t.” Taking my hand, he strolled with slow purpose down the hallway.

My knees wobbled with each step, my mind spinning from the afterglow of a huge orgasm mixed with cold, hard reality.

Instead of leading me to the dining room, he opened the door out the patio by the pool. Candles now floated on the surface of the pool, the twinkling lights bobbing in the breeze.

He led me to the same set of chairs we’d occupied before. “Sit.”

I sat promptly, more to allow myself time to digest the situation than to obey him. I struggled for each breath as if he’d shoved me into that pool and held me down. I begged this so-called luck to give me some sort of protection from him. Something. Anything.

I looked away, focusing on taking even breaths. Though the glass windows of the restaurant, my mother laughed with Samuel, totally unaware of the trouble I’d gotten us into.

And just like the in the past, when I’d tended her cuts and bruises and stole food from the neighbor to nourish us while she lay broken…I found the resolve. We were both whole now, both survivors. Leo had pulled the wool over my eyes during an incredibly weak moment. This wasn’t who I was as a person. My mother raised me to be better. Stronger. Smarter.

I vowed to make it right for us, even if it was the last thing I did.

  “Olivia.” He snapped his fingers.

I blinked and focused on Leo’s impatient frown. “Yes?”

“From the way you’ve relaxed again, I trust you’ve learned your lesson and are ready to discuss terms.” Leo cocked his head in the dim light, those lips smiling in a perfect curve of evil. “I’m sensing you’ve learned your lesson. Am I correct?”

I sighed as my mother rose from her seat, Samuel at her side. “Yes.”

I buried the insistent call to battle, the one that wanted to rise up and fight him right here and now. I sighed again. There’d be time for that in the future. He’d won this round. I’d survive this, too. “You’ve made a huge mistake, Leo.”

  “Oh?”

I turned to contemplate the angle of his jaw, the dimple in his chin. God, he was perfect. But down deep, that perfection had a flaw somewhere. I just had to find it. “Damaged women are the worst prey ever. Do you know why?”

He arched his brows in surprise, his dark eyes glittering with interest in the candlelight. “I’m willing to bet you’ll tell me.”

I leaned in. “Because I’ve already been to Hell and back. I survived. I’ll find a way to break this contract and destroy you. I promise.”

His lean fingers stroked his chin in contemplation, caressing that dimple I’d just admired. “I’m up to the challenge, though I don’t think you have much of a chance.”

Behind Leo, shadows drifted down the glass hallway. A door opened, and my mother and Samuel slipped out, waving. Oh, perfect timing.

I leveled Leo what I hoped was the most wonderful smile, one full of promise. “Of course I have a chance. You gave me a powerful weapon.”

  He narrowed his eyes. “Oh?”

  “Luck.”

  Chapter Four

The next morning, I woke gratefully alone. I’d expected Leo would pop back into my apartment at some point, so I had spent the night laying salt lines and doing other things I’d learned from watching way too much Supernatural. Either the salt had worked, or Leo had decided I needed time to chill.

After my declaration of war on Leo, I’d bolted from the restaurant like a cow breaking out of the slaughter house, waving to my mom and promising to have lunch today. I had no call to action until then, so after a quick shower, I wandered down to the lobby to collect my mail.

I opened my metal postal box and hit the mother lode of goodness, thanks to my newfound luck. I got a letter dismissing my jury duty, and a postcard from the library saying my overdue book had been returned.

The library had been hounding me for the past month for a book someone had checked out in my name by mistake. I’d never had an overdue library book, and I’d rather screw Leo than read about Natural Parenting in the Wilds of Manhattan.

The best news came in a letter from the apartment complex, ceasing my eviction paperwork. I almost sagged with relief against the cold metal postal boxes. I wouldn’t have to move. All I needed wa
s a job and a way to get rid of Leo, and I’d be set.

Humming, I entered my apartment, locked the door, turned, and collided into a hard, suit-clad chest. I spilled my mail as I shrieked in fear.

  “Where’s the fire?” Leo laughed.

Pissed, I knelt to scoop up the assorted envelopes, cards, and letters. “Let’s get one thing straight, jerk. I’m not going to put up with you popping in and out like a cheap genie. You’ll use the god-damned front door like everyone else and respect my privacy.” I glanced up, up, up his lean body, hoping he’d be upset.

He quirked a brow over sparkling brown eyes. “Cheeky today, are we?”

“Cheeky is something your dad would say.” I snagged the library post card and placed that on top of my pile.

“Yes, well. Apples and all that, they don’t fall far from the tree.” He held out a hand. I reluctantly took it, and he helped me stand. “What’s with the salt in your bedroom? Did you have a margarita party and not invite me?”

“I’m never drinking tequila again.” Pursing my lips, I brushed by him toward the kitchen. “I was hoping to keep you at bay.”

He chuckled as he followed, the change in his pockets jingling merrily. “Salt doesn’t work, but I give you bonus points for trying.”

“Thanks.” I plopped the mail down on the table. “What do you want, Leo?”

“Just checking in.” He pulled out a chair and sat down, crossing his legs at the ankles in casual elegance.

God, that demon wore a business suit like a runway model worked lingerie. His muscular thighs tugged the dark charcoal fabric of his slacks in all the right places. Under the perfectly fitting jacket, a light blue shirt with a slightly darker blue pinstripe and a dark blue, skinny tie completed perfection.

I closed my eyes for a brief second to quell the rush of hormones and excitement that had my blood coursing through my veins.

He snickered. “Wet and wanting already, Livvie?”

“Okay.” I opened my eyes and smacked down my hand on the table. It stung, but I left it there and leaned in so my face neared his. “You can talk dirty when I let you do me, but that’s it. I’ll be damned if I have to listen to this perverted chatter for however long…” I narrowed my eyes. “You never said how long.”
